August 2021 Update

I had a lovely email this morning from J asking what I was up to. To answer: writing; positive thinking; as many walks in the lovely PNW marine air as possible; and more writing . . .

I have to admit that I’m not sure why when I look at the calendar it says August, because I’m convinced yesterday it said June. :) Where did the summer go? (I might have to consider the possibilities of unwitting time-travel–will report findings later.)

A Lovely Day Tomorrow is in the home stretch, friends. More to come!

And . . . WordPress confuses me at the moment and I can’t tell which comments I’ve replied to and which I haven’t, so I promise I’ve read everything but I need to straighten things out before I reply so I don’t endlessly reply to the same person. :)

Thank you, friends, for loving these characters and letting me know. YOU ALL ARE WONDERFUL!

    xoxo

Am so happy to hear from you. Was also very concerned that you hadn’t posted in awhile. Understand how overwhelming “life” has been for all of us though. Your posting sounds so very positive and happy. Wishing you well and know all good things come in time. Continue to take care of yourself as that is the most important thing.

I also want to know where the summer has gone! It seems like it was just June here as well. Glad you are taking care of yourself and I’m so happy to hear a new book is coming soon!

Lovely news to read this morning from the not fresh air of Utah 😆 Sending love and light, Lynn! And yes, July is only 4 days long. Then BAM – it’s August!

    Lynn,
Thank you for the update. We miss your words. As a fellow-author, these odd times have changed everyone’s writing rhythms. The fresh air and walks in the PNW sound much needed. Please keep us updated. Your Mc Cloud and De Piaget stories are delights.
    Hugs!

So excited that we have a new book to look forward to. But I’m also happy to reread (over and over) all your other books. They never get old. So, thank you in advance for the new one. I live in the PNW as well. It’s good for the soul 💓

So glad to hear you’re doing well! Now I’m going to selfishly ask about another nine kingdoms story! LOL sorry I said I was going to be selfish! But I can’t tell you how much I love those books, how many times I’ve reread them, or how badly I want more!

    • LynnK says:

Ash, haha, well I’m fairly anxious to get back there and see what’s been going on, too. It may take a bit, but I’m sure there are more reports to be filed from that realm. :) And you be as selfish as you want when it comes to the Nine Kingdoms–I love to hear it!
      :)
      Lynn

  24. Lois Alonzo says:

Thank you! Can we pre-order your book?

    • LynnK says:

Lois, oh, I didn’t attempt that, but maybe down the road. It’s out for Kindle now, everything else end of next week . . .

I think Cindy Graff’s post above says what all your fans have been thinking. We’re dying to read your next book, but we’ve all been very worried about you! Please take care of yourself and keep those wonderful stories coming! I’m still waiting for a story about the Piaget twins!

    • LynnK says:

Carol, you’re so kind. I’m fine, just needed a bit to breathe and think. I feel great, characters are clearing their throats and tapping their feet, so I think 2022 will be a good year. And yes to Sam and Theo . . . eventually! :)

  26. Shirley Bryan says:

So glad to hear you are well and still writing. I love your books about the de Piaget and McClouds families. I’ve read those books so many times and enjoy them so very much. I am also looking forward to your new book A Lovely Day Tomorrow. May you find peace and joy. You are loved by so many of us. Take care.

  27. Robin Baker says:

And here it is, almost October (!),and I only just discovered that you’ve recently posted something new! So pleased to hear that you are doing well and staying positive 😊
I guess I somehow got removed from the newsletter list, since I haven’t received anything in longer than a year, so I signed up again… Can’t bear the thought of missing anything important again, especially for 2 MONTHS!!! (FOMO never really affects me except in regards to your books; Those, to me, are better than a weekend at Disneyland, and obviously much, much, much less expensive! There’s also the added benefit that I’ve never yet felt let down or disappointed at the end of your stories, and I can’t say that about the Magic Kingdom. I’ve never yet had my fill of Lynn Kurland stories; Ha! I’m always already looking forward to the next as soon as I close the current book’s cover!Conversely,I’ve walked out of the House of Mouse frequently without intending to return (but I always do anyway 🤪). Having said all of that, I have to thank you for not finishing Lovely Day in time for my birthday this year 😲🤨 I mean, I love and look forward to my hubby getting me your latest for my birthday every year (pre-covid of course), but when he couldn’t get his traditional gift again this year, he got so desperate to surprise me that he built me a wonderful TARDIS to store my favorite books and DVDs in, and to relax and read in when I want privacy or just quiet alone time! I couldn’t have been more surprised if one of my rats had stood up and sang the Hokey Pokey! Brad’s always been a non-fan of the Doctor and my over 50 years long love affair, especially as I often tease him that I’ve loved the Doctor for twice as long as I’ve loved him (hubby)😉
Now, if you want to release the new book now, I’m sure that Brad will be so grateful to have a (very early) traditional gift waiting for next June! We won’t let him know about any copies I purchase prior to my birthday,of course. Don’t want to ruin it for him, and it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve had two copies of one of your books (or three, or seven,…) in my collection! (Okay, I have to ask, have you ever been someone’s heroine for NOT writing a book in time before this? I mean, how often are you thanked for writing too slowly?lol You’re so awesome, you don’t even have to do ANYTHING, and I’m still thankful, inspiring him to make my favorite piece of furniture/(she-shed in time and space?) to try making up for not having a book again 💖
Thanks for letting us know that you’re still there, healthy, safe, sound, and still working on what is certain to be the next’my favorite book’! You’ve given me something special to look forward to, besides my playtime with the grandbabies💖, of course! Wishing you all of the wonderful things that you so deserve, and looking forward to hearing from you again soon with any luck!

    • LynnK says:

Robin, what a delightful note! And about newsletters . . . I just never send them out because I don’t want to clutter up inboxes unless I have a book coming out. I’m sure you’re still on the list. :) I think your hubby might have a potential gift to get you next week!

  28. Amy says:

I check the site every so often and am so happy to hear that you are well and working on the new book. We will wait patiently for it while revisiting “old friends” = your prior books.

  29. Christine says:

I’m so happy that you are finding little joys in your days, AND that you are also able to write – a definite gift to us, :). Wishing you physical and emotional wellness, and hoping that your weeks and months will allow you to continue to share your incredible talent. Much love.

  30. Kerridwen McNamara says:

Any word on your next Nine Kingdoms book? You left or Mansourah hanging and we never found out what happened to him!
(Date i hope he’ll be the hero of the next one? It seems like it’s Solleir’s turn…)

I’m reading the books to my children (20yoG, 17yoG, 16yoB, 13yoB, 10yoB, 8yoG) and my husband are I finish them myself… And they are always begging for another chapter!

A whole set of fans for life!

    • LynnK says:

Kerridwen, you absolutely made my day with your comments. I’m so happy it’s a family affair for you all, wow. <3<3<3 I will definitely do more Nine Kingdoms books!

  31. Holly says:

    Lynn,
So happy to hear you are enjoying walks and the wonderful PNW air. Something about that place on earth inspires peace. You ask where did the summer go? I’ve been asking myself that for weeks now.
I have been reading the Nine Kingdom series again, and cannot wait for the next installment of that series as well as your newest Lovely Day. You are truly a joy to the world.
    Always. With Love.
