The White Spell Out Today!

The White Spell is releasing today, October 4th. I have to admit, Acair might be my favorite character ever. There’s a part of me that wishes I’d written a whole series about him, a la Sue Grafton: A is for Acair; B is for Bad Mage; I is for I’m Really Not Bad All the Time, etc.

The Prologue is posted over there to the left behind “read an excerpt,” so click if you like and happy reading!

Love the Nine Kingdoms books. Would really like a cheat sheet on pronunciations.

  2. Nora says:

My favorite book of the series. Micah has always been my favorite character and to have him with Acair made me giddy. I could not put the book down. Great read.

  3. Frida says:

Absolutely loved this book! Acair is a gem.

Do you know when and where he’s featured in previous books?

    • LynnK says:

You can read more about him in Dreamer’s Daughter and River of Dreams — sorry, I’m working backward through them — and maybe some in Dreamspinner. I’m so happy you liked both the book and Acair. I have to admit, he took me a little by surprise–and it makes me always feel a little weird talking about characters that seem real but he was definitely standing in the wings, tapping his foot while waiting for stage time. :)

    I Loved this one!
I’m quite fond of all your characters, but this one…. with such a believable mix of good and bad behaviors … is wonderful!

I would read all of the alphabet books (especially, I think, “I’m not bad all the time”

    :)

I read and enjoyed reading both The White Spell and The Dreamer’s Song with Acair and Leirsinn. I sincerely hope you will write another book on their journey and love for each other. I am caught up with their story, Acair seeking his souls and Leirsinn rescuing her grandfather and the magic she needs and sharing their love for each other.

I am OK with others responding to reading about Acair and Leirsinn.

I’ve noticed that you write each story of the Chronicles in books of 3. This is 2 out of 3 for Acair. Any word on when the third book will be headed our way? I haven’t finished this one yet, but I imagine Acair’s story won’t be done after Dreamer’s Song. I am hoping to buy the whole set to read over and over again. Have you thought about doing an omnibus for each of the different story focuses?

    • LynnK says:

Hi Serena, yes there will be a final book in this trilogy to finish up Acair’s story, though I have to admit I will be sad to watch him get on with his life. :)

An omnibus is such a great idea. PenguinRandomHouse still holds the rights to the stories and I don’t think they’d be willing to reissue them, but I’ll definitely put that on my list of things to think about when/if I get my rights back to them. I think it would be a great way to have them combined!

Acair is now my favorite anti-hero (Miach is my favorite Hero) :) Great writing, great interaction between all the characters, and extremely witty repartee – I laughed out loud in so many places that my husband came to see what the commotion was about, Lol. Can’t wait for the rest of the series, and to see what comes out in your other series. Keep up the good work, you are truly talented and have the most wonderful ideas for stories!

    • LynnK says:

Thank you, Robin. You made my day! (And I have to admit, Acair is my favorite anti-hero as well. I love that guy!)

  9. Glenna says:

You are one of my all time favorite authors. I am always on the lookout for your next book. I love the Nine Kingdoms Series as everyone has stated, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

  10. Gail Merriken says:

I just finished rereading Acair and Leirsinn’s books. Waiting for the next one. 😉
Would like to see Sosar’s adventures to find the proper soil to grow his power back (do-gooding and damsel rescues) and more about the shadowy Soilleir and his just deserts. 😜

I stumbled upon one of your romance books in the library I worked in. I would recommend your books to patrons. I slowly went back and bought every book you wrote, but my most favorite are the nine kingdoms books. I love fantasy.

  11. Sharon says:

You said the 3rd. Book would be out early spring in 2018. Did I miss it or did it not be published. Do you know when it will be out? I hope everything is alright, Iwill keep you in my prayers.

  12. Cynthia Phelps says:

Your writing has been so inspiring to me. I thank you for all your work as it is so event that your heart is entwined in each story. I found your writing so many years ago and have found each story as fresh and wonderful as the first. Thank you for each story and know that each one is greatly loved and appreciated.
