20 Years of Books

All right, so I’m a few months early. Stardust of Yesterday came out in April of 1996 — I was barely able to scrawl my name I was so young, really! — but I thought in honor of that anniversary, it was time for a bit of a website rebirth.

I wanted to indulge in one last quick post here before we move things over to the new site. Just one little housekeeping thing first. We weren’t able to move the forum content over. The old forum will be archived so the posts are still there, but we won’t be able to add to it and we’ll have to register for the new forum. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully the spam will be greatly reduced which will make it a better experience for us all.

About email: I might have a bit of a, ahem, backlog. I answer it all myself, so know that if I haven’t responded, I’m working on a book.

About a newsletter: I’m going to shoot for putting one out once a month, so sign up! I’m sure there will be really great content. Maybe some cat pictures. Interesting tidbits that may have hit the cutting room floor. That kind of thing. :)

About life: I am a pretty private person. (Yes, I know, stop laughing some of you.) The past couple of years have been, in a word, hellacious. The reasons don’t really matter, but the fall-out has been slipping a book and having a health practitioner tell me that if I didn’t make some big changes, I wasn’t going to make it. Unfortunately, it sometimes seems like big changes are pretty, you know, hellacious. But since I didn’t want to be done–I have kids, tons more stories to tell, and an embarrassing backlog of spinning fiber and knitting yarn that must be turned into usable items–I took a deep breath and made some large, wrenching changes. It messed with my schedule a little and definitely took a toll, but here I am, two years later, in a much different and, frankly, much better place. Life is very good.

Thank you, friends, for loving these crazy characters, enjoying their stories, and making it possible for me to make a living getting to live a dream. My gratitude honestly knows no bounds. All I can do in return is attempt to give you the best books I can, every single time, come rain or shine.

Austin Designworks did a great job on my new site and we’ll have it up and running in the next few days. I’ll be adding content on a regular basis–yes, including those “to come” excerpts! Exciting things are right around the corner!

I’ll see you all on the other side–
Lynn

I wish you all the best. I’m not a spinner but I am a knitter and I completely understand the fiber issue.

    Lynne,
I have loved your books, and have read most of them twice and some maybe three times. I just enjoyed your latest with Phillip and Imogen. I love that one of the twins is in the present and they still won’t tell who they are. Super great characters.

I am a teacher and I was wondering if you ever show drafts of your work to see your writing process? Kate DiCamilo did it with her book “Because of Winn Dixie” and it is such a great teaching tool. My students often think rewriting is just writing it neater, not truly revising. Your characters are so rich that I have read several sections to the class to show your humor, and I am happy to report my students laughed at the appropriate spots.

Anyway, thank you for hundreds of hours of enjoyment.

It hardly seems like 20 years. I wait with eager anticipation for each new book but never stopped to count the years. That’s so interesting because in June of 2016 we will have lived here in Georgia for 20 years. I wonder where the time has gone. Of course some of it has gone to reading and re- reading my favorite books. Some of yours are falling apart, I have read them so often. I will have to replace a few here soon.

I am so glad to hear that you are taking good care of yourself. I am glad that your dream is to write these books because you are a rare find. I read so few romance novels because they leave so little to the imagination and there aren’t many morals either. I love that in addition to everything else.

I loved Phillip’s story. I hope maybe in a future book, maybe one about Sam or Theo since they like mysteries so much, we will find out how the sword came to be missing from the hall of weapons at Artane. Although I guess the answer is that Robert took it, but who knows.

I know this comment is long, but I just had to. May 2016 be happy, prosperous and fulfilling and may you get to finish some of those projects.

    Hey, Lynn!
I just discovered the new website. Looks good! I will look forward to lurking. I love your books. I have been checking them out of the library since I first discovered them, about 13 years ago. I finally broke down and bought all of the de Piaget and MacLeod books, and will start on the Nine Kingdom collection soon. I appreciate how your love stories build, the wry humor, and the closed bedroom door policy. It’s more fun to imagine, anyway!

I have read your books for the past 20 years. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed all of them. I have all of your books and some of them are starting to fall apart. I thank God for the gift he has given you, writing excellent literature without erotica. I am now putting copies of your books on my kindle.
    Bless you,
    Saundra

    Hello, Lynn,
I want to add my voice to the others here praising all the wonderful stories you have given us. I especially like the ghostly trio of grandpas that I have not seen in your latest stories. May they possibly be coming back in the future? Keep up the good work-I will be impatiently for each new treat you send my way.

    • LynnK says:

Marcia, re the ghostly three . . . I was afraid they were wearing out their welcome, but I’ll check in and see what they’re up to! Thanks so much for the kind words. :)

  13. Linda says:

Please write a new Nine Kingdoms book…Sosar deserves a good woman. I reread them all the time. It relieves any stress of the day.

    • LynnK says:

Linda, you’re right, he does. :) I will definitely see what he’s up to. I have to admit that sometimes I reread them too, for just your reason. There’s something pretty great about getting into another world where there’s no traffic and mortgage payments. :)

  14. Annelies says:

I’ve loved your books and the de Piaget family since I first read “If I Had You.” Thanks for years of good stories!

  15. Margaret says:

Lynn, your stories and your great sense of humor have helped float me over some rough times over the last twenty years.
    Thanks 🌹

What ever happened to Royce in “Stardust of Yesterday”? Did he find his true love? Finally had to purchase a new book, old one has met its end.

    • LynnK says:

Sharaine, lol, I have to admit I’ve done the same repurchasing thing a couple of times! I’ll put Royce on my list, definitely!

I understand the new release in April 2017 is about Nathaniel MacLeod…has he appeared in a previous book? I don’t remember. If he has, I’d like to reread that book….someone let me know.
